We Live With the Devices We Review

Rappid App is a smart home resource built on actual installs, not five-minute unboxings — reviews, guides, and answers from someone who's wired this stuff into real houses.

    How This Started

Rappid App started as a spreadsheet — a running list of which smart devices actually paired with which hub, kept after one too many afternoons spent troubleshooting a sensor that refused to join a Zigbee network. The spreadsheet grew into notes, the notes turned into full write-ups, and eventually it made more sense to put all of it somewhere other people could actually search for it.

The goal has stayed the same since day one: skip the marketing language and tell you what a device is actually like to live with, whether it plays nicely with what you already own, and whether it's worth the money.

    What We Cover

    Our Test Setup

What's actually running when we test a new device.

    🏠
A Real, Lived-In House Devices get installed where they'd actually go — not a sterile test bench — so range, interference, and daily quirks show up the way they would for you.
    🧩
Multiple Hubs on Hand We keep Zigbee, Z-Wave, and Thread-capable hubs running side by side so cross-ecosystem compatibility claims actually get checked.
    📡
Network Traffic Monitoring Used to see what a device actually phones home, and how often — not just what the privacy policy claims.
A Minimum Two-Week Run Long enough to catch the dropped connections and firmware hiccups that a first-day review would completely miss.

    What We Stand By

    🔌
Installed & Tested Ourselves If it hasn't run in a real house for at least two weeks, it doesn't get a rating.
    🔒
Privacy-First Reviews We check what a device actually sends home, not just what the box promises.
    🧩
Compatibility Checked Cross-ecosystem claims get tested against the hubs we actually own.

No Sponsored Ratings A commission from a link never determines what we say about a product.
